The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) announces their first annual case competition for college students, being housed at ThisWayToCPA.com! The Academic and Career Awareness team is administering the competition during the fall semester of 2010 in an effort to support the new generation of talent for the CPA profession Topic.
This year’s topic is focused on accounting for sustainability or triple bottom line reporting for a real-live company, the Umstead Hotel & Spa (www.theumstead.com)
To participate, students must be pursuing their Associate or Bachelor’s degree and form a four person team comprised of two accounting majors as well as two others from any discipline. One of the accounting majors must volunteer to be the team captain, responsible for all communications and submittals to and from the AICPA. See ThisWayToCPA.com/competition to register a team and read the official rules.
Teams will have a choice to include a faculty advisor on their team for guidance. If the finalists have included a faculty advisor on their registration, that faculty advisor will receive a cash award as well.
