The March of Dimes is accepting applications for the National Youth Council AND the Collegiate Council Ambassador Program.

The National Youth Council is comprised of college students committed to promoting, supporting, and implementing youth leadership development initiatives.   National Youth Council members assist national staff, chapters and national service partners with the development and implementation of youth fundraising and mission awareness and education activities.

New members are provided with proper orientation, ongoing training and mentoring. Throughout their experience, NYC members will be offered opportunities for professional development and personal growth.  National Youth Council members are the Foundation’s top volunteer leaders of tomorrow and go on to serve in leadership positions with the Foundation post-college.

Nominees to the National Youth Council should be college freshmen, sophomores or juniors by September 2011.  A selection committee of youth volunteers and March of Dimes staff will review all applications. Interviews will be scheduled with those candidates who meet the above criteria.

In addition, outstanding volunteers can be nominated to serve as a Collegiate Council Ambassador (p. 3). All nominations for the National Youth Council are also eligible for the Collegiate Council Ambassador program. The student will be able to indicate their interest in Collegiate Council Ambassador only or National Youth Council on the Application Form.
