Two FBLA schools voted top six finalists in the White House Commencement Challenge!

Bridgeport High School in Bridgeport, WA and Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, TN – both FBLA chapters – were selected as two of the top six finalists in the White House Commencement Challenge. The winning school will have President Obama speak at their high school’s graduation ceremony. Help support your fellow FBLA members and show the nation the power of FBLA! New York Stock Exchange offers Financial Workshop for Teachers – Scholarships Available

NYSENYSE Euronext and the SEC’s Office of Investor Education and Advocacy are offering professional development programs designed to help educators teach students about the financial marketplace and its importance in their lives and the global economy.  The training sessions will feature lecture-discussion sessions, hands-on activities, and field trips. Educators will leave with an understanding of the capital-raising process and the NYSE trading platforms, and learn how to better include the financial markets across curriculum disciplines. For the first time, NYSE Euronext is offering a limited number of scholarships to help deserving teachers from under-resourced schools.  The scholarships will cover expenses for eligible teachers to participate in the week-long, professional development programs.  Application deadline for the Scholarship Program is May 13, 2011.

Teachers’ Workshops will be held in New York City:
June 27 – July 1
July 11 – 15
July 18 – 22
The SEC Graduate Program will be held in Washington, DC:
July 26 – 29
The NYSE Euronext Graduate Program will be held in New York City:
August 3 – 5

Cool New Tools for March for Babies Fund-raising

Check out these fun and easy ways to do even more to reach your March for Babies goal this year!

iPhone

Sometimes with so much happening, it can be difficult to find the time to log into your March for Babies account to send out e-mails, follow-up with friends, or update your picture or profile.  Well, now there is an iPhone app for that!

The March for Babies iPhone application is for registered users. With the application you can see and manage your online and offline donations, see the latest news and information from March for Babies Twitter, see your event details and incentives, update your profile picture or personal story, and more!

You can also send out donation e-mails, follow up with people you’ve already sent e-mails, or send out thank you e-mails to people who donated!

You can get the application for free in the iTunes store.

Facebook

  • Reach out to your Facebook friends with your March for Babies fundraising link, and ask them to share your request with their friends.
  • Dedicate your Facebook status to your fundraising campaign and your donors – “Thanks to my 10 friends who gave $10 each to get me to my goal for March for Babies! Donate at marchforbabies.org/ (your user name).”
